Cindy Nisley from Georgeson, a Computershare company, continues her advocacy for updating and enhancing unclaimed property laws. As a regular participant in the meetings of the Uniform Law Commission, she’s helping the effort to develop a standard set of recommended state laws for unclaimed property (the uniform law recommendations haven’t been updated since 1995).
In late February, the ULC committee met in Washington to discuss several ongoing issues for the next phase in drafting recommendations for state governments. You can read about the topics at hand in a report on the Association of Corporate Counsel’s Lexology site.
Spreading the word on protecting investors’ property
In addition to her industry-level work on protecting shareholder property, Cindy is also a leading voice for consumers. A syndicated article Cindy wrote containing advice for investors was read by more than 5.3 million Americans.
